HOIST THE JOLLY CODGER

Top anthemic alternative punk rock band THE CODGERS have now released their incredible E.P " Roar" through Matchbox Recordings. The kick ass E.P Features the powerful sing- a -long single " What You Talking About" and their own incredible football rock anthem " Hear us Roar". The Codgers are based in Germany ( Like label mates Groovycide ) but have 1 English member.

Codger History

The Codgers evolved in April 2002 by accident. The bass player, Stephan Frenken had no band at the time , one could ask one's self: "why?", so Carl Garratt and Thomas Hasenau (who have big hearts ) formed the band with him. Their next problem was that they had no Dave Grohl because he's too expensive, but they found Dirk Godenrath. The band was almost complete, but something was missing! Then Stephan pulled Kalle Kamlage into the Codgers boat. Bingo! This group of musicians got together for a one off gig at "Chez Heinz", which is a popular Club in Hannover for the "Dead Pop Star Festival". They proudly played the part of the Sex Pistols due to the sad death of Sid Vicious (Bless his soul!). The amazing thing was that they had never played together until they met on stage, due to the fact that Kalle lives about 70 miles away . The gig was just 20 minutes long, and the audience went wild. After which, the organizer approached us and said: "You guys kick ass, f**k Rock, f**k Pop, you guys have gotta play PUNK!" So we did, and The Codgers were born.
