Details:
As a singer/songwriter Scott Hallock plays a variety of instruments on his new "Stories" CD, including mandolin, harmonica, zube tube, various percussion, acoustic/electric six and twelve string guitars, and bass.
Scott is also an audio and recording engineer and producer. Previously he has produced his duo CD, "Tapping the Grey Sky, More Than I Can Carry;" NJ musician, Maria Woodford's "Brighter Path," CD, and most recently his first solo CD, "Stories." He was also a member of the NJ band, Alaskan and contributed to their "Red Wheel Spinning" CD.
Scott's original song, "Mr. Bear" was selected for the"Poet Man Acoustic Rainbow Sampler #2" CD, which received airplay worldwide. In 1999, "Mr. Bear" was awarded 7th place in the 16th Annual Mid-Atlantic Songwriters Contest sponsored by the Songwriters Association of Washington, DC. Listening to Scott's CDs, it is apparent that he is influenced by the acoustic folk, bluegrass, rock, country and pop music of the 60's, 70's, 80's and contemporary music of the 90's.
In April of 2001, Scott appeared on Channel 3, "Good Morning Arizona," in conjunction with the release of his new "Stories" CD. He has also performed and been interviewed on various radio programs in New Jersey, Boston and Arizona. Scott plays about 15 shows a month in the Phoenix area and can be seen performing in New Jersey in the summers.
Scott has performed at a variety of venues including festivals, county and street fairs, coffee houses, bars, restaurants, libraries, bookstores and private parties in New Jersey, New York, Arizona, Massachusetts and Colorado. He has appeared at the Falcon Ridge (NY) Folk Festival, and at the annual Phoenix, Tucson, and Prescott Folk Festivals and Phoenix Songwriters Gathering. In the New Millenium it is his goal to reach a wider audience with performances at more festivals and venues throughout the country as well as through the Internet.
