Voiceplay diva, Helen Rivero is an award-winning performer in the world music scene. Her singing style combines elements of jazz, cabaret, traditional music and experimental performance, described as intense and humorous.

Her new album, Yes capitan, released in 2007, is a collection of original bilingual compositions (English and Spanish), combining the flavours that have inspired and influenced Helenâs musical endeavours over the years.

Peasant girl cabaret! ⦠A jazzy folky blend of whimsical songs that explore themes of longing, love, treachery and the unspeakable bliss of it all! Intimate and edgy vignettes about searching, finding, suspicion, lingering memories, disturbing obsessions and unexpressed dilemmas. Slightly absurd, personal ballads with a naive artistâs love for colour.

Helen has previously released two albums; 'RIVERO: Spanish, Sephardic and Original Songs'; ancient Sephardic (Judeo-Spanish) songs of love and loss, which traverse the Mediterranean and the Middle East, released in 2001. In 2005, a collaboration with Ian Blake led to the recording of LUMINOUS, a collection of lullabies from around the world; dreams, charms and trance: music of the moment.

Helenâs music appears on numerous compilation CDs. Performing in Australia and overseas, Helen also offers vocal workshops.
