While performing with the band he is a part of, "BROTHERIN"(JCLOOKOUT.COM), Jerry Wells'writing, and singing abilities helped bring them to open for the world famous new country artist, Dierks Bentley, at Clinton Riverboat Days 2005, in Clinton, Iowa.
When he is playing for one, ten, or thousands, Jerry Wells seems to reach the hearts, and souls of many people. His music ability, and style, along with his down home stage presents, keeps audiences, and fans entertained, and always asking for more. Jerry's music spans many different genres. A mixture of blues, bluegrass, and good, old country, his original sound, with old fashioned , acoustic roots, always tells someones story, most of which are true life.
Jerry got his start in music as a teen in Maquoketa, Iowa as a drummer. He played local honkey-tonks with friends, with garage bands, or for anybody that would listen. Later in his life, he broadened his horizons musically by adding many acoustic instruments to his playing style. Some of which include guitar, banjo, rosinator(dobro), mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, and various interesting sound makers.
After serving his country in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam era, Jerry settled down to work a day job in the steel industry, and raise a family, all the while, still finding the time to pursue his love of music when he could.
Presently with the band BROTHERIN, still playing honkey-tonks, back yard parties, wedding dances, and festivals, he juggles family, music, work, and everyday life. Although he has always written, and performed his own original music, as well as other artists tunes, one of his new pursuits is recording. Dedicated to his wife, and kids, Jerry released, on August 15, 2007, an acoustic CD, "Back To My Door." Along with his wife Carmin, and help from his kids, Jerry wrote, added most instrumention, vocals, and sound effects. He produced, and recorded this new CD in his studio at home, outside of Erie, Illinois. The title cut of this CD, going out to his daughter Jozie Wells, who is giving her services to the United States Army National Guard, and recently finished her tour in Afghanistan.
To all the military servicemen, and women who are keeping us all free, and to their families for supporting our troops, Jerry hopes, and prays that their loved ones will be returning safely home,"Back To My Door", as once he prayed for his daughter's safe return. Jerry, and Carmin Wells, and their family sends their sincere, gratitude, and thanks.
