Music, all music, should tell a story. Life is a series of interconnected stories. Kieren has traveled much around the world, looking for stories. It's funny how wherever he goes, the stories are the same. About the same themes. Love. Lust. Loathing. Longing.

For now, Kieren's dream is to see amateur music videos of his songs on Youtube. He also hopes to travel more.


Dream of a City, Kieren Young's first solo album, is a concept album exploring the themes of love, lust, loathing and longing. It is a song cycle about Lover and Beloved and what passes between them.

Each song is set in a different city and tells a separate story. When taken in sequence, the songs map out a journey from heartbreak to the stirrings of new love.

Dream of a City blends world music, jazz, rock and cabaret influences. It is fully written, composed, arranged, performed, recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Kieren Young. Everything was accomplished on his Apple Macbook, and with Apple's Garageband software.
