After nine years of community college in Detroit, and finally obtaining a film degree from Columbia College in Chicago, KURZ moved to Los Angeles to make a hip-hop album. After two weeks, he found himself homeless and struggling to survive in the heart of downtown L.A. But donât feel sorry for this cat. He could have afforded a place to live and put cloths on his back, but then there would be no money left to press an album.

As a founding member of âBoxeightâ, a Los Angeles artist community, he became the studio manager, and earned a small studio space of his own. It is here that Kurz began to assemble the musical patterns of everyday, inner-city life, and author the lyrical accompaniment that would eventually stem into a genre of music that in indescribable.
