David Lange, an independent filmmaker by trade, says that "Return of the Comet" and "Mars Rising" were always meant to be heard together. It is only now that the opportunity has arisen to be able to join them into their original sequence. Lange creates his music visually first, starting with the songs titles and working backwards. He says that each piece represents an integral part of the whole experience as well as an event. For example, the selection "Tales of Snow" signifies the tail of Comet Halley which is comprised of ice crystals and harkens back to a time when the earth passed right through it and the landscape sparkled. "Mars Rising" is about an imaginary journey taken to the red planet and each selection has something to do with that endeavor.

These recordings were made live, direct to digital and Lange says they represent the only time that these songs have ever been performed. After a brief hiatus, Lange is once again back in the studio working on a new project which will involve a journey to yet another celestial destination. This CD is due to be out late in 2007 or early 2008 and more information will be posted here as it becomes available.
