A Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter, Gretchen was raised in Berkeley, where her passion for jazz, soul and urban beats developed within the Bay area music scene.

After fronting a funk band in the late 1990s, Gretchen's debut solo album "3 AM," produced by acclaimed musician Greg Poreé (who has worked with such artists as Stevie Wonder and Cassandra Wilson), was self released and found an audience on the internet. Several songs including "3 AM" and "Angel Eyes" regularly topped the Mp3.com charts in jazz, acid jazz and soul categories.

With such success, Lieberum was signed to Lakeshore Records (Warner Bros.), and released her second album, "Brand New Morning," which she co-produced with Porée. The album featured several collaborations with DJ Cut Chemist of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli fame.

Her current album "Siren Songs" was produced by John Gold ("Eastside Shake") and his partner Sam Music. With a wealth of musical ideas, Gretchen's "Siren Songs" is her most personal work to date.
