In the style of pop tunesmiths of the 60âs and early 70âs, songwriter Loren Deppingâs material plays like three-to-four-minute melodic stories. The songs, with catchy hooks, hummable melodies, and lyrics worth sitting down to read, are accessible to varied listeners.

Presented as acoustic pop, country, rock and folkâwith electric guitar and additional instruments interjectedâtheir content runs the gamut: from trysts to trains; tattoos to tarmacs; love lost, love found, loving that cute dental hygienist. He has been proud to soak up as much Jimmy Webb, Marshall Crenshaw and George Harrison as two ears can hold.

Beginning in the 1990âs, Loren played in a variety of acoustic duos, trios, and bands up and down Oregonâs Willamette Valley and coast. In the early 2000âs, he relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he presented new material as an acoustic solo act. Upon returning to Oregon, he served a four-year tenure as songwriter and guitarist for the power-pop band, âPartly Dave.â (See Partly Daveâs âOwn Upâ for more information on the band.)

âGo By Trainâ is Lorenâs fourth solo album. Back pressings of earlier albums are due in early 2008.
