Luke Janela is a cellist songwriter who plays distinctive, emotive pop music. He hails from the woods of Northern California where he grew up.

In July 2007, Luke released his entirely self produced eighth full length "Midnight Door". The accumulation of two years of work and travel, the album is a mixture of many influences, ranging from classical to electronica. Midnight Door is the product of a year long road trip, and encompasses various landscapes, from the commotion of the city, to the vast desolation of the American road.

Luke's unique application of the cello drives the sound of "Midnight Door". Listeners are struck by Luke's adaptation of the classical instrument to non-classical genres. Luke has developed a solid live act singing while playing cello in a wide variety of shows. His distinctive cross-genre approach to the cello has prompted many songwriters and bands to use him on their albums, and he has toured as a solo artist and in various groups. He earned his Degree in Music from the University of California.
