Lucinda Black Bear is the pet project of Christian Gibbs (vocals, guitars, piano). Born from minor keys and a heavy dose of melody, Lucinda Black Bear frolics the musky musical landscape with palatable sonic morsels incorporating cellos, feedback, loops , and acoustic guitars. The band is brought to life with Mike Cohen (Soft Explosions) on bass, Kristin Mueller ( Caulfield Sisters ) on Drums, Chad Hammer on cello, and Clare Burson on violin. L.B.B. have just finished their first full length and the official U.S. release is set for Sept 18th 2007. The record will also be released in Switzerland on Oct 13th. Though Gibbs (aka C.Gibbs) has received rave reviews for his solo work in Rolling Stone, Spin, NBC News, Billboard, Alternative Press, No Depression, Harp, Guitar World Magazine, and many other notable publications, he felt like these new songs needed a new home and a new name. Songs like "Capo My Heart" , and "Fought the Bear" with their plaintive, understated Chet Baker meets Radiohead meets Elliott Smith ruminations, are attracting a brand new audience. .
