"Listening For Hope When Looking Yields Nothing" began its initial production when its author came home after work to find the locks on his house changed and his belongings scattered across the front lawn. Eventually finding a place to live, he found himself living in a burnt out apartment in a dangerous neighborhood, sneaking through alleys and shortcuts to get home from work every night. Within this environment, his music shifted from fun, humorous tunes to dark sweeping digital symphonies.

This album is a best of collection of beats made from 2003-2007, chosen from over 100 loops, beats, songs, and cuts by mccrd. These beats were then painstakingly edited, built upon, changed, and blueprinted into full length electronic pieces that transcend various genres while remaining downtempo and powerful. Creatively breaking the boundaries of traditional hip hop and electronic music, it combines elements of mixing, sampling, digital and live instrumentation into pieces that can be summed up as classicaly inspired, complex, moody and haunting.
