Nano Frog's music paints a landscape of hopeless addiction to drugs, video games and cartoons
16 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Experimental Rock, ROCK: Garage Rock
Details:
Don't Follow Our Example is Nano Frog's second album. A number of the songs were recorded during the Fantastic sessions of 1996. The album title is an actual quote from one of our friends as he was being wheeled out of a party on a gurney by an EMS crew. We felt that it summed up our artistic feelings at the time. Favorites include Fasterickfaster, Mother Fungus & Golden Anniversary. Don't miss the hidden bonus track at the end.
Funny review of a live show during this period:
"Nano Frog played for about a half hour, rolling out their full range of retro guitar strummings and kooky lyrics. Self described "punk gone into space", a more telling description would be Joy Division meets Primus. The music moves in robotic fashion and all their songs sound like a space ship is about to take off. Joe Vella, the spacey guitarist, considers the theremin (a noise making instrument) as important as any living member of the group. He calls it the "space box" and gesticulates wildly with his hands as if demonstrating its mysterious powers."
