The Nite Train Band has been entertaining Albany, NY (Capital District) crowds since itsâ inception in March of 2003. The band has come a long way since itsâ first show, with the most radical upheaval occurring in 2006 when bassist/band-leader Ken Briggs and keyboard/sax-player Marcus Benoit set out about the task of turning the band into a Full-Fledged Horn Band! Promoters, agents, and many fellow musicians scoffed at the idea essentially saying: âno one is doing the big horn band thing anymoreâ¦especially now!â and the band has been proving those critics wrong ever since! The recent addition of the talented âHigh Voltage Hornsâ and the bandâs return to Stonewall Studios with this current line-up has truly energized the Nite Train Band into High Gear!!! Now poised to release itâs first all-original Compact Disc, âBest Manâ, the Nite Train Band with the High Voltage Horns is setting itsâ sights on playing larger venues and, in particular, the Festival Circuit. The band remembers itsâ humble beginnings, however, and still keeps the NTB Locomotive âwell oiledâ by playing the local Capital District watering holes where it has gained itsâ credibility and notoriety.
