Details:
Lisa Mychols and Hillary Burton met in junior high and decided to form a band. First came selecting and then learning their primary instruments. Born from this period was the all-girl pop/rock band The Mozells that featured Lisa on lead vocal and bass and Hillary on drums and back-up vocals. Their first gig was held at the legendary Cavern Club on Hollywood Blvd., which was run by Bomp Records founder, Greg Shaw.

The Mozells received airplay on Rodney on the ROQ and The Local Show on KROQ, appeared on local L.A. music cable tv program It's Happening, and played numerous gigs throughout Southern California before disbanding in 1993.

Hillary went on to play with a number of bands in L.A. mostly as a 'fill-in' drummer, before settling into a period of learning a variety of instruments and focusing on songwriting and various recording projects.

Lisa went on to play with numerous bands based in the L.A area in a variety of roles from bass player to drummer to leader of The Masticators before releasing a number of critically-aclaimed solo records. See Lisa on Wikipedia for more info.

Lisa and Hillary formed NUSHU in 2006 after co-writing a number of songs together in late 2005 that led to a decision to go into the studio to see what would transpire. As both Hillary and Lisa play a number of instruments, the two of them played all the instruments and did all the vocal work on the record with the help of their co-producer/engineer, Steve Refling, stepping in to play those super-cool parts as only he can.

The recording sessions for NUSHU's debut album, Nevermind Lullabye, were completed in early 2007. Next came the final mixing, mastering and graphic design work leading up to the release in July 2007.

Even before the release of Nevermind Lullabye a number of the songs found their way to the airways as far West as Hawaii thanks to Michael McCartney with The Time Machine radio program which airs throughout the islands, to as far East as Florida thanks to Adam Waltemire at Pop Garden Radio.

Nushu's first live show took place in August 2006 at the International Pop Overthrow festival in Los Angeles and included Tom Richards and Ricky Tubb from The Waking Hours.
