Although they may not sound like dirges, the 12 songs and 2 instrumentals on David Stephens' 2007 release, "Postcards From Sadness," reflect a man who's been going through some stuff. This album spans two major geographical moves for Stephens. First, from his hometown roots in Alabama to the ever muggy ATL and currently the "dirty sidewalks/dirty streets" of New York. Stephens mixes several different styles here: bluegrass, folk, honky-tonk, dixieland and a smidge of rock-n-roll for good measure.
