"A Long Way Home," Timber Wolves' freshman album, is an aptly-titled collaboration between two long-time friends from Cleveland, Ohio who have been making music together for over thirty years. The CD is a collection of
twelve original folk and bluegrass songs. Mike Mukavetz and Larry McFadden began playing together in the '70s as a folk duo, then with a company of friends in an eclectic five-piece bluegrass band. They disbanded in the early '80s as Mike went on to raise his three children, and both men
settled in their careers. Several years ago, they reunited musically, first in the county/rock band Virginia, then with bassist Joe Ronimo as Timber Wolves. Gigs around northeast Ohio were meshed with songwriting, thus "A Long
Way Home" became a reality. This self-produced album shows the variety of styles that comprises Timber Wolves. From traditional folk to upbeat bluegrass, the CD offers its listeners an opportunity to sample the group's mixture of
genres that has endeared its fans. It makes for agreeable
