Vohnegut is a four piece progressive art rock band. They reside in Vacaville, California and are currently finishing up their first ten song recording. They formed in early 2004 with the common goal of writing original songs that crossed genre's but still had a common thread throughout. One of the driving forces behind the music has been guitar tones. They have experimented with many different guitar's, amplifiers, and effects resulting in some periods of psychedelia throughout the recording. Vohnegut held a position in the top 50 of the Soundclick.com alternative rock charts for over 8 weeks. An early review from Norine Braun at Consensus.com describes the song Fasciculations; "The melodic guitar intro grabbed this listener to take notice. The Mick Jaggeresque vocals expresses fasciculations, a neurological condition causing muscle twitches. Now that is creative to title a song as such. Melodically strong and memorable." Vohnegut's plan for the future is to continue writing and playing as much as their schedule allows. For 2007 they will be playing festivals to support their first independent release due out in April.
