Following his tour of duty with the post-rock outfit Stop, Thief!, Todd Baran returned to writing and recording independently under the new moniker When Clouds Attack. The songs on his debut EP are primarily instrumental and defined by driving rhythms, interlocking guitar lines, and electro-organic sound layers. Those that resonate with the ambient textures of Sigur Ros or thunderous guitar swells of Explosions in the Sky will surely appreciate the soft subtleties that define this first release. The EP features original artwork by Joe Moccia and is available in a very limited pressing.
