Build A Machine is a band that formed in Boston. The drummer Tyler, and singer/guitarist Mike, met in high school and have been playing together ever since. Nick, the bassist, is related to Mike and has been playing with him for roughly 5 years. The 3 of them first got together to do some recordings on their portable studio, which eventually led to them playing live shows. The response was great, and the energy they bring live is definitely not to be missed. After a couple months of recording and playing, the band decided they wanted a bigger picture, so they packed their van to the brim and headed out west to Southern California. The trip was VERY difficult for the band at first. They spent over a month and a half being completely homeless, crashing on random peoples couches, sleeping on the beach, and when they were lucky, getting hotel rooms. They could not even rehearse during this period. Eventually, the band got an apartment, and slowly but surely, started to get the ball rolling again. They went out everywhere to promote and network their band to everyone and anyone who would take the time and listen. The band then rented a house in the desert to write their EP titled "Once Around The Sun" It was the perfect place to write an album, great for inspiration, and very quiet and isolated. The band got straight to work demoing and rehearsing. BAM also did some showcases for record labels at their practice space in California. On the day after their last showcase, the band got their power shut off by the electrical company due to "Lack of Payment." Talk about perfect timing, huh? During the short time that they had been in California, they got Dave Aron (Snoop Dogg, Sublime, Prince, 2Pac, U2) and Willie Waldman (Banyan, Sublime's "Date Rape") to produce their EP "Once Around The Sun" in a macked out studio in the Hollywood Hills. Build A Machine are currently rocking the East Coast, and plan on doing some serious touring in the near future. Its Party Time!
