Native American flute and electric guitars, from meditative to ecstatic, surf rock to desert elegies.
13 MP3 Songs
WORLD: World Fusion, WORLD: Native American
Details:
This CD collects a dozen songs from the first three Crazyquilt CDs, originally available on MP3.com, all remixed & remastered. In addition, the title track is previously unreleased.
For those who haven't yet heard Crazyquilt's music, you're in for a poweful trip. On this CD, the central voice is the Native American flute. However, while many Native American flute CDs wrap themselves in Native culture and sounds of nature, Crazyquilt takes the flute to the edges of possibility. This is due to the other important voice: the electric guitar.
From surf to '60s psychedelia to North Indian raga, the guitar carries the flute to places heretofore undreamed of. The result is a glorious fusion of tradition and transformation, ranging from meditative to ecstatic.
In addition to being a musician, Zak Kramer, aka, Crazyquilt, is also a digital artist. The CD features full color art by Zak. If that's not enough, the CD itself looks like a UFO -- what more could you ask for?
