Who are the barefoot BUSHMEN? Is there an Identity crisis? What do they sound like? They are a band hailing from the Shire (near to Lincoln) Their heroes are John Lennon, Frank Black Evan Dando and Gram Parsons... and this is how the story goes. Originally formed at school in the 90's under the guise 'May' - Sam, Nick and Tim played jingly jangly Beatles and Levellers inspired folk rock in the bars and clubs of Newark, Grantham and Nottingham. The boys then went their separate ways with the lure of the University party lifestyle and freedom appearing particularly attractive. Whilst in Cambridge studying the art of Music Technology Tim and Nick wrote and produced 3 albums worth of material in a caravan, Nicks residence at the time. They soon realized there was a future in this so the 2 nomads made a break for London in search of like-minded. As fate may have it Sam had just returned from traveling the world to source inner inspiration. A bungalow was rented, equipment was found and all night sessions commenced. The barefoot BUSHMEN were reborn. With guitars permanently slung over their shoulders and a drummer ready to rumble they took their troubadour spirit together with an endless pocket of songs and stunning vocal harmony on a journey through the city. The Bushmen performed in pubs and clubs with tales of card games and magic spells, marshmallow dream worlds and pseudo city tree life canopies. The addition keyboardist Dave "Spaceboy" Bridge-Collyns, who had been working for a New York record label, made the progression into their current pastiche of creativity which ranges from pseudo-sixties vocal harmony, folk-a-billy guitars rising through grunge into all out punk laps of honour, while still spinning on a constant thread of melody. As a sideline Tim also plays solo acoustic shows under the guise 'barefootim. These shows are both heartwarming and heartbreaking in turn. More Evan then the Lemonheads, more Elliott than the Smiths. The barefoot BUSHMEN can currently be found playing well-respected venues to a loyal, enthusiastic and ever increasing following. ***Visit www.barefootbushmen.com for further information*** ***Tims solo acoustic demos can be found on www.bftim.co.uk***
