ALL IN is the long-awaited debut of Toronto-based saxophonist Dave Neill. Including 8 original compositions and a new take on the Miles Davis classic âBlue In Green,â ALL IN features Juno Award-winning pianist David Braid, bassist Pat Collins, and drummer Anthony Michelli.
Best classified as Contemporary Mainstream Jazz, Neillâs compositions incorporate a modern sound firmly rooted in the jazz tradition. His sound and style could best be described as melodic, laced with bebop with an added touch of intensity. It has appeal for the full range of jazz aficionado.
Originally from Ottawa, Dave Neill moved to Toronto in 1995, and now teaches in the jazz programs at the University of Toronto and Humber College. He is on faculty at the summer jazz camps at IMC and NMC, and recently completed a Masterâs of Music in Performance at the University of Toronto. Additionally, Dave Neill is considered one of the foremost poker experts in the jazz community, and is feared in the online poker world.
