Details:
Jazz bassist and composer Doug Ebert's musical aspiration began at age four when he attended Mercyhurst Center for the Arts in Erie, PA. Over the coarse of his childhood he studied guitar, baritone horn and piano. As an undergraduate at Marquette University, he started playing the bass violin. He studied jazz theory at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music under the guidance of bassist Rich Kremer, saxophonist Berkeley Fudge and guitarist Don Linke. Over the past ten years Mr. Ebert has become a fixture in Milwaukee's jazz community, appearing regularly at clubs such as the Jazz Estate, and larger venues such as Summerfest and Jazz In The Park. Now a full time musician, his resume includes stints with the Jack Grassel Trio, the Don Linke Trio, the Steve Einerson Trio, the Mike Plog Quintet, the Jeno Somlai Group, the salsa/merenge band Isla Adentro, the Jason Seed Elixir Ensemble and the EMP trio. In June of 2007, Doug released his first solo album, "Times Change", which features his compositions played by several of his current and former bandmates. In August of 2007, Milwaukee said goodbye to itâs favorite bassist; Doug now lives outside of San Francisco, CA, where he hopes to assemble a new band to bring his compositions to life.
