DUSTIN JAMES â A Cowboy with a Cause

A self-proclaimed âcowboy with a cause,â Dustin Jamesâ latest creative milestone is the new single 'Give Peace a Chance.' The single is the first of twelve new songs to be released on his upcoming album 'Land of the Free.' Other featured covers include John Lennonâs 'Imagine,' Bob Dylanâs 'All Along the Watchtower' and a Jimi Hendrix classic, the 'Star Spangled Banner.'

Indeed, with uncompromising delicacyâ as writer, producer, and recording artistâ James' strives to capture the issues of our times; war, immigration, gay marriage and more. âIâm not protesting, Iâm informing with hopes that we can all find a greater consciousness,â says Dustin.

'Land of the Free' is being recorded, mixed and mastered in-house by James at The Artistâs Den Recording. The audio recording suite located in Scottsdale, Arizona specializes in capturing acoustic performances of singer/songwriters. Dustinâs musical spark drove him to build it after the release of his debut album 'BEING.' Released in 2003, 'BEING' received nationwide attention.

James summoned the moments from his own transformation with BEING. The album bridges the age-old rite of passage from boyhood innocence to manhood. Dustinâs resonant vocal combined with dark melodies and vibrant strings created eight classically unique pieces that forged his music into a category of its own.

Born in Phoenix, James received his creative imprint early as the son of a professional guitarist and well-respected talent agent. After the guitar at age five, he picked up drums at seven, acting by 12, and dancing throughout adolescence. At 17, he launched his professional creative career by studying acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Dustin has lived and worked as an actor in both New York and Los Angeles with a determined resolve to the creative arts. Along the way, he acted in episodes of 'Law and Order' and 'One Life To Live' and performed in the 20-year revival of 'Torch Song Trilogy.' In 2006 he starred in the feature film 'Redemption' and in 2007 landed a supporting role in the new Universal feature film 'Kids in America' starring Topher Grace.

Currently James is focused on spreading the prevalent message 'Give Peace a Chance' by offering listeners a chance to vote for the movement on his website. Dustin James is without a doubt a âcowboy with a cause.â

WHO - Who is Dustin James?

âIâm an artist. I donât decide who, what, when, where or why. I feel an impulse and allow that to feed my creative energy. When Iâm inspired, the inspiration leads me.â

WHY - Why Give Peace a Chance?

âItâs the truth. I look, see and feel the world around me. Itâs on the breech of chaos and unless we stand up and redefine ourselves then Iâm afraid that soon it will be out of our control. The draft age changed from 26 to 42. Why? Theyâre preparing for something. So am I. Theirs is war and mine is peace.â

OH AND WHY - Why the upside down flag?

"I'm a patriot, make no mistake. I believe America is the Land of the Free! I wear American clothes, drive an American car and am willing to die for the Constitution of America! I also believe in God though and I don't know how he or our forefathers would feel about us killing 1,000,000 Iraqis over weapons of mass destruction that have never been found."
