Earl Whitaker was born in Bridgeport raised in New Haven Ct. The son of New Haven vocalist the late Ruby Whitaker, Earl started singing and playing guitar with the church choir at the age of 10. Hanging around outside of nightclubs to catch the sound of live music he was hooked. He started performing with various bands at the young age of 14. At 16 started playing with a group called Positive Choice. In 1980 he penned "Don't go Astray", it was the groups first and only release on Buddah Records. It was a modest local hit. For many years leading The Earl Whitaker Band, also opening for and backing many artists like, Ashford and Simpson, The Chi-Lites, The Dramatics, The Stylistics, Fred Parris and The Satins and The Isley's
Earl is a versatile vocalist/musician. His gifts are at home whether in Jazz Pop or RnB
Founding Chris Cam International Recordings in 2007 with first release "Only Want To Be With You" and the second release "Free". And the beat as they say goes on.
