The project Efenstor was started in 1996 by Andrey "Efenstor" Pivovarov in Krasnoyarsk, Central Siberia. For eight years the project has been evolving, moving through different musical styles, gaining and changing influences, but all the time holding to the philosophy of mighty neoromanticism.

Since 2002 Efenstor seeks inspiration in the Northern folklore, cultures and art and two years later turns to the indigenous Siberian music and history. Sudden discovery of the neoromantic art via Theodor Severin Kittelsen, Caspar David Friedrich and Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann leaves a great trace on his later creations.

Efenstor's music is purely instrumental, compensating the lack of words with its expressiveness. Always experimenting, Efenstor doesn't care for popularity and sometimes freely varies styles from grindcore to mild new age creating a kind of imaginative journey from song to song as from place to place, guiding the listener from wide steppes to wild woods, from the woods to misty bogs and into different epochs, different cultures, through the whole world of Efenstor's imagination.
