Whisperings is the second CD of original music released by Craig Owen. Written in the musical style of the Taize community, these songs can be used for individual meditation or group singing and worship. Some of the songs are in traditional verse-chorus style, such as He Will Lift You Up, about the source of strength we can always turn to in times of trouble. Others are short, simple melodies and lyrics to be sung repeatedly, such as Create In Me, a prayerful request for God to make our spirit true and strong. All of the songs are recorded with only vocal and acoustic guitar to preserve their simplicity. Let these songs speak to you, so that you might hear the Whisperings of the spiritual reality in which we live and move and have our being.
Craig Owen began writing and performing his music at open mic nights while living in Denver CO. He also hung out and performed at the Swallow Hill Music Association in Denver, which promotes folk music of all varieties. Since moving to South Carolina, he has continued to write and perform.
