Well, these three boys have found something. Not sure what shape it is, but it is fun trying to hold it.

This debut album from lowercase p is a great entrance. There are so many influences, but itâs too cohesive to call fusion. Technically advanced enough to be interesting instrumental music, but raw enough to feel the emotion and personalities of these players. Birthed by vital energy and spontaneous heart, then nurtured by motherly love and engineering advancements this album is one of a kind.

Comprised of nine songs the album grows on you for 48:47. It leaves you wanting more, but rather than being disappointed you just play it again. Recorded completely by the band in their own living room studio, âwhen your fingers find the shapesâ is an amazing achievement.

Aside from the performances, the recording techniques, production, and mixing are all part of the music. Brian Redmond is really the 4th member of the band, mixing and mastering every track. He was heavily involved in the music making process and adds a depth unlike any other.

Keyboardist, Phil Reese, shines as the melodic leader of the group. Handling quirky melodies and taking incredible solos, this young keyboardist is sure to be recognized as a pioneer of style. Jazz and Classical elements peeking through, but itâs the fresh synth work and interesting choices that make Phil stand out in the keyboard world.

In the trio setting, bass needs to do more than reinforce the chord progression. Bassist, Brandon Downs acts as a necessary counterpoint to the frenetic keyboard stylings of Mr. P Reese. Brandonâs personality comes through his bass on every song. Highlights include Loose Screws and Spider Song

Gabriel Cruser is more than a drummer. Playing various percussion instruments as well as producing many of the mysterious sounds found through out âwhen your fingers find the shapesâ, Gabriel is crucial to the lowercase p sound. Not to take focus away from his drum set playing which is unique and very high energy. Raw beats and moving rhythms drive these songs.

Listening to the album all the way through is an experience to remember. It makes me want to see the band live. I want to dance and feel the positive energy coming off of these boys. I think my fingers have found the shapes.
