Are you sitting comfortably ? Cos the very alcohol fuelled band history goes like this:
There was a Creation One with different members years ago but it inevitably disintegrated. At the end of 2002 Guitarist Dan Wilson attended a New Year's Eve party at the vocalist Dan Purcell's house. After approximately 742ml of Jack Daniels, Dan Wilson picks up a guitar and starts to play and is shortly joined by Mr Purcell who sings his way through songs like Laid by James and Traffic by the Stereophonics. After putting the Guitar down Mr Purcell makes it very clear to Mr Wilson that he would like to form a band. That party ended when Guitarist Dan Wilson decided to give someone a damn good thrashing for being rude to his girlfriend. What more could you want from a New Year's Eve party?
Skip forwards to summer 2003 and Dan Wilson meets up with Will Nelson (an original member of the old Creation One) at The Barn in Chestfield. This turned into a pub crawl which ended six miles down the road at the infamous Old Neptune in Whitstable where Dan Wilson put it to Will Nelson that they should start writing music for a new line up which wasn't confirmed yet. Will Nelson agreed but probably would have agreed to sell his sister at that point in order to buy another round at the bar. This was cleared up the next day when he said he was still interested and the fisherman gave him back his sister.
Shortly after this drinking binge came another but to this one Andy Freeman (also an original member of old Creation One) was invited. Will and Dan Asked Andy Freeman if he would play Bass for the band again to which he replied, "no, f*ck off you c*nts! I will play the drums and my little brother can play the f*cking Bass." This was considered and after several more pints of beer, a super large bottle of Jameson and a swift kick in the nuts for Mr Freeman (initiation process), was agreed.
Songs were written, rehearsal rooms were booked and the new line up began its mission.
The EP " All They Took from me" is made up of songs about War, friends, drugs and women. The sound is sleazy rock with a bit of retro mixed with a bit of punk. Also, lots of guitar pedals.
