Melody Signs with RYS Records

On April 26th, 2007, Melody signed with RYS Records, an inspired independent label. Her new album "FREEDOM", produced by Chris Arms was recorded in Nashville and Philadelphia.

The release party for her 5th album is scheduled for the Billy Block show on June 26th, 2007.

The Grand Ole Opry "Mistakes Like Me"

Melody Guy moved from Sherwood, OR, to Nashville, TN 2 years ago and got lucky. Sherrie Austin, Broken Bow recording artist, recorded her song "Mistakes Like Me" that Melody wrote with Tom Kimmel. On 10-06-2006 Sherrie sang the song on The Grand Ole Opry.

"Sign of Trouble" was recorded in 2006 and relates to high-school memories; teen-age mothers; lost love; temptation; true love and the maturity to spot the signs of trouble and move on. Her intuitive band displays tasteful restraint that allows Melody's voice and songwriting to shine through without losing the strength and passion of her personality. Her live performances are an impassioned mix of honesty and pure fun that make you feel like she's playing and singing just for you.

The Music

Ready for Sunshine (DynoTwang 1998), Nashville) won the Just Plain Folks Music Awards: Album of the Year, Country Album of the Year and Song of the Year ("The Man I Really Need") in 2000. Melody also walked away with Country Album of the Year award for "Shoulda' Loved Me" and Songwriter of the Year for 2002 out of 102,000 entrees at the Just Plain Folks Music Awards. In 2004, Melody won the Country Album of the Year for "Signs of Trouble" in 2004.
Melody wrote a theme song for Vanilla Coke which was used for Northwest promotions.
Melody's "Mistakes Like Me" was recorded by country music star, Sherrie Austin (Broken Bow Records) to be released this year.
