JAZZ: Contemporary Jazz, JAZZ: Progressive Jazz
Details:
Born October 6, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland. Rob
knew at a very young age that he wanted to play the guitar. At about the age of twelve, he began to play
with a group formed by his father, Robert Reason Sr. "The Black Notes". He played in this group for many years, until he took an interest
in jazz.
Rob always believed that any and every performance should be interesting, exciting, and entertaining. He believed that the musicians should be prompt, well attired, sharp and professional at all times.
This way of thinking has made him a favorite of those for whom he has performed...especially club owners. He is always eager to please the crowd and give them a great show.
A gifted guitarist, Rob continues to please his audiences with the hard driving, first class shows he has been known for.
He has been performing at several of the venues in Baltimore, D.C., and Virginia, including City View, the Marriott Hotel (for Smooth Jazz 104.3 FM Radio / hosted by Randy Dennis), Takoma Station, The Eden Lounge, The 219 Jazz Restaurant,
Dotsuns Live, and the Lakefront in Columbia just to name a few.
He has always been inspired by his favorite guitarist national recording artist, jazz guitarist Mark Whitfield. "Mark is a hard hitter, and a hard worker, who never runs out of ideas. Sharp and professional...!" He has studied intensely with Mark Whitfield, and is currently studying at the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, pursuring a degree in music.
Back in Baltimore, Rob formed and lead for many years,
the very successful..."Unit 1 Jazz Group"! After many years, the various members of the group parted ways to explore and pursue
other musical endeavors, while Rob went on to record his first CD "Can You Come Over".
He continues to work hard and perform with other artist, and is currently studying at the Peabody Institute pursuing a degree in music. He is in the final stages of another CD.
