Search For Atlantis is not your normal New Age music. It was composed as a meditation/relaxation cd, but has a very listenable musical flow as well. Composed and performed on synthesizers it has a blend of realistic pianos, strings and horns, as well as, totally unique and new sounds.
Search For Atlantis is not your normal meditation cd either. No cricket sounds or waterfalls found on most relaxation cds. This is a sonic soundscape with memorable musical melodies. Sure there are some ocean sounds for effect, but they don't dominate the entire work.
Search For Atlantis takes the listener on a voyage to the very depths of the ocean bottom where the only sound is one's heartbeat. Upon the arrival in Atlantis, the listener is brought into the royal court of King Neptune amidst the sound of an underwater choir. Then the listener is slowly brought back to the surface world for the trip home.
The composer and sole performer Stephen Wood was trained at the Berklee College of Music and has appeared on many studio recordings.
