They are The Sumner Brothers.
Hailing from Vancouver British Columbia, Brian and Bob Sumner aged twenty-eight and twenty-five respectively have garnered an incredible amount of attention for the short amount of time they have been a duo.

They have been placed on a virtual compilation album with the likes of The Be Good Tanyas, Jolie Holland, and Sean Hayes.

Samantha Parton of The Be Good Tanyas has called The Sumner Brothers her"new favorite band" on myspace.

Michael Leahy of the "cool as folk" radio show in Davis California has placed them in the "upper echelon of B.C. songwriters".

Says Craig Bonnell of songsillinois: "while this doesn't live up to the music you might hear from a southern Baptist church choir, it does sound like the Gospel songs of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Gordan Gano. The
band deals in the deeply spiritual side of music while expressing no interest in any particular religion. Their songs seem to explore the themes and topics that are both nearest and dearest to our own hearts but also theones we speak about the least".

When asked about their early mounting success, the brothers simply reply
"we just write songs, I suppose people find something they can relate with in our songs, something they can take home with them".
