You have never heard anything like this, unless you already have the first album, or are a collector of Song-Poems! Each song-poem began as a poem or a set of lyrics received by email, then set to music by the one-man-band of David Dubowski. It's all done from David's home, with lots of real drums, guitar, bass, percussion, and a Boss BR-864 eight track digital recorder with only a smattering of drum machine. The sound is, well, hard to classify. Some are rockers, some are pop, one sounds like Pink Floyd and some are Celtic or Folk. Three song-poems on this CD were begun as lyrics by Jeff Richardson. Four of the other song-poems were begun as lyrics by Karen Andrews, and David wrote Saving Mother Earth for her topic of saving the earth. Then David set them to music and the result is the classic song-poem sound. They differ from historic song-poems in that much care and time was taken to make them as good as possible, even though they were all recorded at home. Amyy Keith gives some nice female vocals on The Seduction Of Pan. And there are experimental non-songpoem bonus tracks at the end. The last two are from the ancient pre-digital days of 1985, recorded with two cassette decks and a mixer!
