Hello! I would like to introduce you too the Rock N Roll band âAlbino Flyâ based out of Kansas City, Kansas.
Albino Fly began as a studio project in late 2000, and took the tracks from the studio to the stage which stretched all through out the Midwest for 3 years. Rounding up the end of those 3 years took the band to New York City to record their debut EP âThe Eternal Temporaryâ with Producer John Neclerio (My Chemical Romance, The Atariâs) in which they produced the song âNorthfieldâ that started to take the band to whole new level.
âWe choose to make a music video for Northfield with Director Chad Calek (10 years, Mushroom head, Taking Back Sunday) which is a concept the band wrote about child abuse, Involving a local high school, and live footage from a show we did with Chevelle and Papa Roachâ Explains Jonny (vocalist)
A REVIEW,
Showcasing their efforts and talents, the band put together an innovative resume. The end result produced an EP/DVD split release titled "The Eternal Temporary / Northfield Video". The EP features three amazing tracks, and the DVD contains the video for the hit single 'Northfield'.
Without a doubt I am a fan of every song on the EP. Albino Fly has a new hard rock sound with just a dash of metal. The guitars and vocals are equally as powerful and one another and are the two key elements that distinguishes the bands overall sound. The songs are great to listen to, as its evident all six-band members are constantly contributing, thus giving the listener the ultimate musical experience. One band Albino Fly sounds a lot like is TVT recording artist Closure. They both have a hypnotizing melodic hard rock sound. Albino Fly is a bit harder rock than Closure, but the feeling I get when I listen to either band remains the same, I feel empowered, excited, full of energy and love singing along. 'Northfield' is a well-rounded song. The heavy guitars paired with the melodic vocals are what really make this song stand out for me. There are some great vocal harmonies shared throughout the entire song, with emphasis in the chorus. 'Edgerton Road' is a slightly slower paced song but really picks up and packs a punch with its loud heavy chorus. Good energy is evident throughout this song, another great feature. The last song on the EP is coincidentally titled 'Closure'. The lyrics really make this song appealing. The lyrics deal with relationships and coming to terms to get through it. The song hits its peak with about a minute left that would be a great show closer.
The video for Northfield is very well produced and themed. It's not some big shot Hollywood production full of special effects and celebrities. Basically it features different clips of the band and their performance at a show. It's simple to see that Albino Fly is in their element while performing. The comfort, energy and confidence is felt equally as much as the crowd responds accordingly, showing their appreciation jumping up and down and singing along.
I really liked the idea of a small CD/DVD release. I felt it was an effective resume for the band and a nice preview for myself. You get enough of a taste of the band, that leaves you wanting more, and you also get to see some clips from a live performance. The industry has seen potential in Albino Fly, and isn't wasting anytime. A-List producer James 'Jimbo' Barton (Stone Sour, Marilyn Manson, Eric Clapton) has signed on to produce the Albino Fly full length album, once they have found a label home. The band recently played a showcase in New York for Lava/Atlantic Records. Things seem to be falling into place in the right order for the band. Whether it's support from Kings of A&R, shooting a new video for their previously unreleased song 'A Letter To Albino Fly' or hitting the studio to polish up on new music with Wes West or Jimbo Barton, the band is destined to make 2006, the year of Albino Fly!
