Anchor28 is a band that formed in the fall of 2005. The group began as a small worship team that led music for their youth group in Covington, Virginia. As they have matured and grown over the past few years their sound has evolved into a distinguished form of alternative rock. The heart of every Anchor28 song revolves around truth and what truth is. "Truth is something we become aware of everyday. Truth is what we believe and what we know. In our music we try to encourage people to seek truth in everything they do. Everyone needs hope and everyone needs something to believe in. At the heart of every song we write rests the undeniable truth that drives this band"(Carpenter). Captivating melodies and lyrics renounce through every ballad. Anchor28 songs balance a sound of driving guitars and drums with smooth vocals. The point where a person is completely surrendered before God is irreplaceable"(Williams). In the summer of 2006 Anchor28 got the oppurtunity to perform w/ a great new band called Mainstay. Through that experience they came to know Scott Campbell(lead guitar) of Mainstay who would later record and mix their 5 track EP in Forever Productions studio. From that came their first release, the "Extraordinary Love EP".
