When you're in a war zone on the other side of the world even the atheists amongst us might find ourselves praying to God. Inspired by the true story of John Simpson, the BBC World Affairs Editor who was accompanying a convoy of US Special Forces and Kurdish fighters when they were mistakenly bombed by a US airplane in 2003, rock band ANEMO, led by charismatic lead singer Hazelle Woodhurst, is roaring back into action with a new single "Pray" to be released nationally in the U.K. on October 15 with a simultaneous digital release in the U.S. and Canada.

"Pray" will be a featured single on ANEMO's as yet untitled second album on the City Canyons Record label to be released in early 2008. Emotional, powerful and passionate, "Pray" is a rock anthem bursting with energy and melody which raises questions about war, morality and sacrifice-- and captures the horror of deadly combat, the gut- wrenching fear and flood of a adrenaline, in a way in which it has never been explored before. Along with the original single, ANEMO has added a stunning dance mix that actually adds its own nuances that is the unique sonic experience that is "Pray".

The word Anemo derives from the Greek word Anemos which means 'changing forms' and that is exactly what the band has done since the release of its first critically acclaimed first album "slowburn". "With this record we wanted a sound that was more focused towards the energy and aggression of our live set" said keyboardist Kingsley Sage.

Recruiting another vocalist and guitarist means that ANEMO is now a seven-piece act with a sound that fans are already referring to as 'Stadium Rock'. Add to this the fact that the band contains a kick boxer, actress, sky diver, motor cyclist, surfer, Doctor of Oceanography and a Doctor of Artificial Intelligence and it becomes clear that Anemo are anything but your average band.
