Music for Humans is like a party held under the flashing lights of a hovering spaceship. It's about people on earth. It's also about robots and aliens. Possibly even a few monkeys. 9 MP3 Songs POP: Pop/Rock, POP: Garage Pop Details: Banjo Drill sang with underground heavyweights Wigglepussy, Indiana and Black Cat Revival, whose sounds can best be described as "dark cabaret". With his first solo effort, Music for Humans, he's taken a different approach, crafting upbeat, fun songs that rock the block. On the surface, Music for humans is a bluesy, spacey, gritty, danceable collection of pop oddities. But the deeper you dig, the more you'll find. From the groove-driven Robot Boy to the expansive epic sound of Battery City, Music for humans is a dynamic collection of multilayered music and whimsical imagery. It was a D.I.Y. project through and through. Music for Humans was written, recorded, mixed, and produced by Banjo Drill in a tiny, one room studio. He enlisted the efforts of Brandon Schlunt, from the ass-kicking Cincinnati band Noctaluca for drums and drum programming. Banjo Drill also did all of the artwork and packaging. 2 years in the making, it's with great pleasure that Banjo Drill releases his first solo effort, Music for Humans. Far from the whiney regurgitations of today's tired indie rock and pop, Banjo Drill gets to the point with a keen sense of fun and curiosity. It's music that moves because it hits in the gut and sticks in your head. When provoked, it even kicks some ass. If you're looking for the "woe is me" meanderings of some dude in a white belt, girl jeans, and a dumb haircut, Music for Humans is probably not for you.
