The Billys (Bill Melanson and Billy Jonas) met in 1990 while accompanying singer-songwriter David Wilcox at the Black Mountain Folk Festival in North Carolina, they grabbed nearby recycling containers and led the audience in spontaneous improvised "repercussion" jam.

The response was overwhelming: The Billys were born.

The Billys made 2 recordings during their illustrious 5 year international career.

The first, entitled " The Billys" is available only on cassette and was recorded live at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa North Carolina, and live in the studio at Possum Palace.
