Details:
Born the first of three children, to young and loving parents, Brooklyn was encouraged and supported in all aspirations. A natural born singer and instrumentalist, her musical background begins as a singing baby, who pulled out the pots and pans before her parents traded them in for a Fisher Price Xylophone. As soon as her fingers could reach the keys of a piano her father taught her to listen and play by ear. He also taught her a few guitar songs when he caught her sneaking un-coordinated strums on his old Fender Acoustic.

As soon as the lessons were over, at the age of fifteen she had successfully written her first guitar pick-style song, If You Try. Only a short time later did she finish her first piano song, Scared Of Love. Both of these First's are included on her first album, Blue Skies Await.

She became a solo artist and began singing for large crowds at the young age of twelve, at the same time she won her first award made of candy and soda-pop at her Junior High Talent Show. At that point, she had discovered and became addicted to the thrill of being a Pop Star and her dreams took shape.

After years of singing Karaoke, singing in churches, bars and schools across the state, she became a National Anthem success and performed The Star Spangled Banner A'Capella at many different events for diverse occasions, including; welcoming Soldiers home from the war, opening more than a dozen MotorCross races and for ten thousand cheering NASCAR fans at the first Utah hosted NASCAR 200 Event, (also her first nationally televised performance.)

After years of trying to make a music career living in Salt Lake City, where local music was sparse, and failing to make a connection to find her path in life, Brooklyn's story really began the moment she left the comforts of home to pursue her life long dream. In December 2005, she quit her job, took her last paycheck and packed all she could fit into her car, including her dog, her cat and a guitar, and headed for California where she had distant cousins with open arms and a 5th Wheel trailer to make home, while she began a new life.

Although adjusting was difficult at first, she courageously set forth into the San Diego music scene, where she gained a deeper appreciation for music, met new friends and fans and quickly made this new world her home. Through another aspiring artist and good friend, Barbara Nesbitt, Brooklyn was introduced to Sven-Erik Seaholm, a multi-Award winner for Best Local Producer and who understood the harsh survival conditions of being a musician. Sven graciously took Brooklyn under his wing and while recording her first single, Change My Mind (Acoustic,) began a true friendship along with the makings of her first album, Blue Skies Await. With his keen ear, guidance and shared passion for music, Blue Skies Await blossomed with what seemed divine intervention inside his studio to create a beautiful, inspirational and diverse album, which she is more than a little proud of.

Brooklyn brings together sounds of Folk-Pop, Smooth Jazz and a little bit of rhythmic blues to uncover a completely new sound, something satisfyingly sweet and easy to relate to. If you enjoy the sounds of Sarah McLachlan, Jewel and Norah Jones, youâll love Brooklyn!
