âTime of Praiseâ launched and released on July 14th 2007. Charles Akintan was born in Washington DC in the early 70's. Both parents, Oladapo and Olufunmilayo Akintan are from Nigeria West Africa.
Raised in Nigeria and get married to his high school sweet-heart, Oyesola Akintan in the year 2000 and blessed with two daughters so far, Joyce and Jumoke.
Charles has been a song writer and singer for a while now, since the age of 10 to be exact. Very very shy and gentle, but gifted with a unique voice. "Deacon" (as known to all) has performed in many places over the years ... Churches, Birthday, Naming Ceremonies & Weddings. He also performs like every Sunday with The Apostolic Church, Washington Assembly Choir (also the choirmaster there).
This album is all about praising God and nothing more or less,it is combination of English and Nigeria native language (Yoruba). Now, the greatest thing about this album is that you will feel the Yoruba language vibe despite the fact you are hearing Yoruba for the first time in your life. Most parts of this album was recorded the last time he traveled to Nigeria with various great vocalist and instrumentalists like Dotun Dina, Saxophone Legend, Herbert Kunle Ajayi and many others. Mr. Yomi Omidiran (at Pianocise Production) was the man God use to complete this project here in the U.S.A.
