Singer/Songwriter Christy Jeffersonâs Career at an Exciting Peak with NEW ALBUM Release on Sept. 21st, 2007
DOYLESTOWN, PA â August 6, 2007 â Doylestown based singer/songwriter Christy Jeffersonâs new album, Living Curiously, will be released on Friday, September 21st and supported with two celebratory full-band performances. This album â her fourth released through her indie label, Terrinish â represents the musical culmination of a yearâs work, and the career of an artist who has had her fair share of ups and downs.
Impressive accomplishments marked it a successful year for Jefferson and found her reveling at new heights in her musical career. She opened-up for rock legend Kansas, worked with world-class producers on her new album (producers whose credits include Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Dresden Dolls, and others), and signed a deal with a booking agency who has taken over all her college / university bookings. These expansive opportunities together with the new album itself beautifully frame an artist who is coming into her own, and this time around, she has been enjoying the roses without the thorns.
Jefferson is well adapt at overcoming obstacles. She was in a major car accident on the way to the CD release for her second album, Live in Philly, though she still managed to make it to the event and perform that night. She had to re-record from scratch her third album, When Kisses Take Prisoners, after an equipment malfunction ate one of her tapes in the studio. Back in 2004, all her instruments were stolen from her before a performance at famous venue CBGBs in New York City. The beloved songstressâ family, friends, and fans collected enough money to replace her gear in just three days. Laryngitis almost prevented Christy from performing at the Musselman Triathlon Festival where her song âComin Roundâ was being honored for placing first in their international song contest; she got her voice back just days before the performance. And finally, during a trip to Nashville where she had appointments with some industry pros, she got pulled over for speeding and managed to sing her way out of the ticket!
With so much experience overcoming hick-ups that threaten to interfere, Jefferson is not concerned about curve-balls leading up to the September 21st CD release; she is too busy with other exciting developments. It was announced in July that Christyâs track âJava Jacketâ (off the new album Living Curiously) won a song contest that was open to 110,000 other artists. The prize: inclusion of âJava Jacketâ on Music for Coffee Beings â a compilation CD that is being distributed throughout Canada and will boost the singer/songwriterâs international presence. With the release date of her new album rapidly approaching, Christyâs momentum has attracted the attention of some big players in the music industry. She has already begun recording her fifth album with super-star producer Shelly Yakus who has worked with John Lennon, U2, Stevie Nix, etc.
These exciting new developments that point to promising things for Christy and her music have kept her busy, but have not prevented Jefferson from âstopping to smell the rosesâ.
