Cosmos Worth
Born October 27, 1960, Cosmos grew up as a small town mid-western Christian boy. During his early years, he spent a lot of time rambling about and playing in the natural world of the Southern Michigan countryside. He loves reconnecting with nature at every opportunity to this day.
Over the course of his life and as a result of many direct experiences with the Divine in multitudinous forms, he has since expanded his spiritual path by embracing the philosophy of Universal Oneness. In support of his beliefs and spiritual awareness, Cosmos is an ordained minister of the Progressive Universal Life Church. In 2005 he was initiated on the Sufi path within the Sufi Ruhaniat Order* http://www.ruhaniat.org, a group in the lineage of early 20th century Sufi Master, Pir-O-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Cosmos also participates as a musician for the Dances of Universal Peace, http://www.dancesofuniversalpeace.org/ a practice of Honoring the Divine in all forms from all the great spiritual traditions of our human family.
Singer/songwriter Cosmos Worth, began crafting songs in January 1997. His first song, âHonor Her Nameâ (for Mother Earth) was inspired by and initially performed as a member of the Earth and Spirit Chorale of Portland, Oregon.
Almost two years after that first song, on winter solstice of 1998, Cosmos left teaching and followed his heart on the river of love as he moved to River Song Sanctuary, an incredibly beautiful place on the wild and scenic Hood River. While living and working at River Song, Cosmos deepened his spiritual awareness and practices, and continued to regularly channel music of the Divine Loving Essence.
Since âHonor Her Nameâ in 1997, Cosmos has written around 150 songs, each with a unique thread in the weaving that is the timeless message of universal oneness. Fifteen of these songs celebrating our Soul-centered human experience fill the 2007 album, "Beloved Friend", with inspirational remembrances. To internalize the message of this music is a spiritual practice that will assist the listener in holding a focus on the light.
Join with Cosmos Worth in celebrating the creation of his first released album, âBeloved Friendâ. Enjoy a moving meditation through divinely channeled lyrics and music. It is suggested that you listen actively with the clear, positive intention of reflecting upon the heart-centered message of this music. It will touch your heart with a deep recognition of our inherent connection with the One Love.
âBeloved Friendâ is an album written and produced entirely by Cosmos using an apple i-mac g5 computer with an apple garageband software based system. Most tracks were recorded in a tiny studio Cosmos set up at River Song Sanctuary on the Hood River in the quite of the 2007 North Oregon winter. Finishing work was completed at Cosmos' new home studio in Hood River, Oregon. Instruments played by Cosmos on âBeloved Friendâ include acoustic guitars, electric guitar, synth midi keyboard, recorder, dâjembe, doumbek, incidental percussion, and vocals. Some tracks utilize âapple loopâ samples for certain bass riffs & percussion sounds. The opening track, âOcean of Loveâ, also uses samples of wave and seagull sounds found on the internet.
Cosmos acknowledges all the friends and family who have helped make âBeloved Friendâ the inspirational gift that it is. It is offered with the best of intentions in service to the highest good of all concerned.
Now, Cosmos lives with his beloved sweetheart, Ani Sinclair in Hood River. He continues to help out with River Song and has continued to follow his bliss by beginning work/play on the next album, still in the early stages and as yet, untitled.
"May all beings be well,
May all beings be happy,
Peace, Peace, Peace!"
