ABOUT WYTCH:

Author Maggie Shayne writes:
âThe CD opens with 'Magickal Rite of the Wytch'. Sultry, haunting, building in powerââ¦.âThe CD (Wytch) is worth ten times its weight in gold just for its first daring 22 minutesââ¦.âThe first track alone would have sold me on this CD. When you add the other 6 tracks, its value shoots to some point beyond measureâ

From Earth Tones Studiosâ¦
He derives a young energy into his music and ultimately into the listener. David has managed to incorporate heavy techno, almost drum and bass, into ritual making. If you are looking for high-energy ritual music or just want to shake your butt off, pagan style, look here. David Wood has definitely proclaimed this niche in pagan musicâ¦..

ABOUT DAVID WOOD:

David Wood is a recording artist based in Columbus, OH. His music has been described by local media as the POP/Dance Alternative with a dash of Soul.
From High Energy Dance music and soulful ballads, to the erotic and mystical . . . his music continues to appeal to a wide variety of audiences.

David started his journey with the release of his 1992 CD, "Plaything". This disc contained several foot stomping tracks with attitude that became an instant hit in many dance clubs. People came to see who the person was that belted the tunes they frequently danced to, like 'Rhythm, Testify & Vanity'.

By 1994 David slowly created a name for himself and was traveling frequently. Thus, it was time to head back to the studio for another CD and to build a better show. He added a couple of young ladies by the name of Camella Fury - who had began working with David on the 'Plaything' disc - and Marley Howard. Together they formed Danse Wrapture, and propelled audiences into a frenzy with their tight dance routines and powerful vocals.

With the release of 'Scrapbook' came newspaper interviews, radio play, club dates and a hectic pace which included daily rehearsals for the trio. David recalls, "We showed a lot of people who doubted us, what we could really do!" However, a time of setback was upon the artist.

Power struggles with his manager and the dealings with the corrupt side of the music industry began to take their toll on David Wood. Danse Wrapture began to hive and develop their personal lives and focus on family. David continued with solo appearances until the time came to slow down. "I was beginning to go to a dark & dangerous place in my life", said David. I just needed to stop and discover who I was outside of the music.

Nearly 3 years after the success of 'Scrapbook', David Wood released a new CD appropriately titled, 'From The Ashes' in 1997. (see on this Artist's listing)

Well worth the wait, in 2001 David Wood releases his most creative compilation to date. The throbbing & swirling sounds of 'Wytch' take you to another world and back leaving chills up your spine.

Small events and concert appearances continued to populate David Wood's schedule while preparation and promotion was under way for his upcoming CD.

In April of 2003 David Wood released LOVE CHILD FROM 69. This CD takes you back to the exciting and fun days of Studio 54. David has always loved the Disco era and has dedicated the CD to his mother, the original Disco Queen. There were many stops along the way for the Love Child Tour which included radio interviews, pagan and dance club events and more.

David Wood is a 3rd degree High Priest and licensed clergy within the Black Forest Clan and Circle Seminary. He is a Reiki and Hoodoo practitioner and very involved with Spiritism.

David currently teaches within his Black Forest based coven, Coven of the Black Leopard in Columbus, OH.

He presently has more than one iron in the Creative Fires and anticipates release of exciting news by Halloween 2007.
