Denis started performing solos in concert band and jazz band at age 9.
He performed solos in a college jazz band in Nashville on tenor.
Denis performed in jazz groups all over New York, including recording studios in Manhattan to perform solos as a sideman on tenor.
He performed in a latin band in New York, New Jersey and Long Island.
Denis performed in a Lawrence Welk Society-sound band on tenor at the Bear Mountain Inn in New York.
He spent many nights in Manhattan clubs listening to Dexter Gordon, always getting a front row seat!
