A completely improvised concert, where any type of structure results from the spontaneous communication between the four musicians, with the inevitable hesitations - as in real life.

This is a live recording of a free jazz concert, which resulted in a double CD. It is a lot more adventurous than most of my recordings, because, except for one tune that we did as an encore, all the music was created on the spot. The tunes were of course named afterwards. The recording was made by a friend, straight from the mixer, and hasnât been tampered with in any way. Most of the tunes segue from each other, so itâs a good idea to hear it on a CD player, because computers usually create a two-second pause between tunes by default.

The record itself is homemade, and it consists of two Sony CD-Râs packaged in a cardboard cover. The covers I made myself out of old boxes, and they have been spray-painted with car paint by my daughter, using stencils she made herself. Thirteen records have been produced until August 2006, and very few will be made in the future, which makes this an ideal collectorâs item â if one is into completely obscure stuff. Two tunes, âI love youâ and âas if I caredâ are not listed on the cover, for mysterious reasons.

"fiare vechi luam" means "we take the scrap iron". It is a street call of the iron peddlers in Romania. They travel in their horse-drawn carts and take old iron things people don't need anymore to places where they get a little money for them. The song originally appeared on my album "friday / featuring Tom Smith", soon to be re-issued.
