"Among the Trees" is J-BALL's debut, 17-track CD released on his independent record label "R00T L0VE ReC0RDS" (December 2002). It's an album filled with melodic songs that help create a diverse fusion of Alternative Rock, Folk and Hip-Hop music. J-BALL's unique style of Singing, Songwriting, Guitar playing and Producing shine throughout the album leaving his listeners hooked.

Among the Trees was Written and Produced entirely by J-BALL. It was recorded in Austin, Texas at Clockright Studios during the hot Summer days of 2001 and 2002 (Assisted by: Bassist Bradley Corl, Drummer Shane Vannerson and Engineer Jason Richard). However, the album's concept manifested three years earlier during J-BALL's inspirational stay ''among the trees'' of Humboldt County, California.

Among the Trees is an emotional, musical voyage containing 14 catchy songs, 3-tracks of funny studio outtakes (with surprise answering machine messages), a cappella J-BALL flows and even a hidden track. J-BALL is a Singer Songwriter, Artist, Guitarist, Producer trying to build a musical movement founded on compassion, consciousness and professionalism. J-BALL has an extensive range of musical influences and it's these inspirations that have helped shape one of the most original and musically inventive artists in today's music industry.

Using a mix of tribal guitar riffs and melodic vocals, J-BALL captures his listeners through raw emotion and showmanship. His clever song structures, catchy hooks and award-winning lyrics unite himself, his audience and the dynamic band that backs him up. J-BALL's passionate songwriting, distorted guitar playing and powerful vocals work together to create a distinct type of Alternative Rock music.

At only 27 years of age, J-BALL has written over 100 songs and has been playing guitar for over half of his life. Several years of songwriting experience, voice training and live performances have paved the road for one of music's leading entertainers. Simply put, he assembled his band to make people dance and to help shine some sort of light upon our social troubles. J-BALL thrives on equality and diversity both in his music and lifestyle.
