Biographical information:
Joss Jaffe began his musical journey at the age of 9 writing songs with voice and guitar. He was introduced to the music of India at a young age through the devotional chanting of his parents and their teacher Swami Muktananda. At 15 Joss began studying Indian vocals, tablas (the classical drums of North India) and sarod (the Indian 25 stringed lute). At 17 Joss lived in Nepal with master drummer Homnath Upadhaya.

A professional tabla player, Joss has studied and performed with two of the greatest living tabla players Zakir Hussain and Swapan Chaudhuri. Joss tours regularly with the popular American kirtan (Indian devotional chanting) artist Dave Stringer. Through his extensive performing, recording and touring Joss has already gained popularity in his own right with the spiritual yoga crowd. Now taking the leap to band leader and front man, his beautiful and unique compositions are finally coming out into the light.

About the album:
A multi instrumentalist, Joss plays over a dozen instruments proficiently. In addition to two guest appearances, Joss composed, performed and recorded the entire album. âOff into the Unknownâ showcases his unique talent, with haunting dotar (a 15 stringed plucked lute) solos alongside lightning fast tabla improvisation and classical guitar fingerpicking. The heart of the album however is Jossâ vibrant and distinct vocal style.
