Yamoo Publishers would like to acquaint you with one of America's rising poets. His name is M. A. BUTCHER. Mr. Butcher is the author of a best selling book of poems in its 6th Printing that has been approved by the NYC Board of Education for use as a textbook. The book is now the core of "AFTER THE HEARTBREAK JUST LISTEN (a readingâ¦*)" of healing poetry promoting peace.
This book is more than mere poetry. It deals with the psychology of relationships. Its philosophy is based on love, caring and forgiveness. To quote Mr. Butcher, "Any time after you are born is before the divorce and you donât have to be married to suffer the trauma of separation". With over 17,000 copies sold, M. A. Butcher (as he signs most of his work) has been a one-man marketing, promotional and sales force.
Mr. Butcher has been interviewed on The Open Forum, WCBS News 88 and National Public Radio. He was featured in the City Section of the Sunday New York Times in April '95 and in the City Beat of the New York Daily News in March '97. He has also appeared on CBS EYE ON PEOPLE, NY 1 News, WCBS Ch. 2 News, and was a guest on The Rolanda Television program.
As an invited guest speaker, Mr. Butcher has addressed audiences of students, teachers and parents in schools throughout New York City.
Marc Anthony Butcher, a native New Yorker, Harlem born and Brooklyn bred resides in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn. He has co-authored a screenplay entitled "richboy/HOMEBOY" and collaborated on a stage play about Phillis Wheatley, called "Phillis A Slave To Poetry". Eight years ago, his second book Positive Messages for young men growing up without their fathers ISBN 0-9622939-1-1 - was published and has also been approved for use as a textbook. He is finishing a version of positive messages for young women currently.
M. A. Butcher is continuing to work on his second and third books of poems, but has produced and released "AFTER THE HEARTBREAK JUST LISTEN (a readingâ¦*)" his first audio CD. Which is now included in The Original Heartbreak Vaccine Kit. (see website for details)
